My father took me to Bodie when I was 5 years old in 1973. The Bodie bug bit me and I've been back many many times since. I never get bored going there. It is a peaceful and tranquil place to me. I have been fortunate to have been on the many tours with some very talented park representatives. When I was still quite young I dreamed of 1. Going into the Standard Mill and 2. Walking the mining district above the town. I have done both a couple of times and am completely mesmerized every time to the conditions the miners worked in. Someday, probably when I retire, I hope to work at Bodie. It is a phenomenal place. I encourage everyone to visit at least once.
